Non Profit Organization in Hillside, NJ is seeking a Facilities Technician.
The Facilities Department is responsible for ensuring that the building interior, exterior, and vital systems (HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical equipment) and material handling equipment are functioning.
The department is seeking a Facilities Technician to support with ensuring that all systems and equipment run smoothly and at optimal performance by performing predictive and preventive maintenance.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist with construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities.
Paint, remodel, and refurbish warehouse areas, as needed.
Repair, maintain, and monitor all equipment and amenities.
Replace electrical components including bulbs, ballasts, switches, receptacles, and fuses.
Perform preventive maintenance on all HVAC equipment to include changing filters, replacing belts, lubricating motors, and bearings.
Repair or replaced toilets, faucets, fixtures, copper, and PVC piping.
Work with Facilities Manager and Director to plan work priorities, obtain necessary supplies, and assess skills needed to complete tasks.
Maintain equipment parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level and anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies.
Prepare rooms for events:
remove or rearrange furniture for events or classes, as needed.
Maintain work area in a safe, clean, and organized condition by adhering to company safety standards and policies, follows safety regulations, and alerts management about potential concern(s).
Read and interpret documents such as SOPs, GMP, Safety Data sheets, Operating & Maintenance Manuals, and Safety Protocols.
Document maintenance services by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
Conduct facility modifications according to specifications approved by Facilities Manager while adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
May be assigned to perform specialized job functions i.
e.
, forklift mechanic, construction electrician, refrigeration mechanic, plumbing specialist.
Perform on-call duties as per the Operations SOPs
Qualifications:
5 years of experience in an industrial mechanic role.
Proficient understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and building construction.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical documents, and equipment manuals.
Ability to comprehend written and oral instruction to perform maintenance and repairs as required by work order.
Ability to push/lift 50 pounds.
Will need to kneel, climb, crawl, and/or reach to complete job duties.
Ability to work in extreme temperatures, in high noise levels requiring hearing protection, and working around lubricants, solvents, batteries, cleaning fluids, paints.
Must understand safe work practices including lock out tag out, confined space entry, ladder and climbing safety, work permits.
High School Diploma or equivalent is required, along with a positive, can-do attitude, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work well on a team and learn new concepts quickly.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
