We are looking for a Meal Production Assistant to help produce meals of the highest quality for our various programs according to our recipes, production procedures, and safety protocols.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Following daily production sheet for what needs to be produced for the day.
Setting up workstation with all ingredients and equipment needed.
Ability to use diverse types of cooking and packaging equipment to fulfill production requirements.
Preparing ingredients by following recipes; slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing ingredients; adjusting seasonings; verifying taste; and packaging meals.
Checking the quality of food throughout the production process.
Ensuring all food and other items are stored properly.
Adhering to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures; maintaining temperature according to ServSafe and state guidelines throughout the flow of food Maintaining safety logs as required, maintaining appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items.
Completing cleaning according to schedule including dishwashing as needed.
Assisting in preforming regular inventory Communicating with staff, volunteers, and students of our training program Observing all warehouse and food safety procedures Providing a teaching environment when students are participating.
Performing other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
Essential skills and
Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent.
3-5 years hands-on experience working in high volume foodservice operation.
ServSafe certified or equivalent in safe food handling, or willingness to work towards certification.
Maintains a positive work attitude by acting and communicating in a manner conducive to good interpersonal relations.
Self-directed; able to multi-task and work independently and as part of a team.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills; high energy level; flexibility; discretion.
Displays leadership qualities.
Demonstrated understanding of diversity and cultural differences.
Experience operating a pallet jack is a plus or wiliness to learn.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
