The FoodBank seeks an experienced dynamic fundraising professional to develop and implement a development plan targeted at individuals with major gift potential. Responsibilities include the cultivation and solicitation of prospects and donors who have been identified through an aggressive direct response program, growing monthly donor program and online giving and utilizing an established gift club program to upgrade these donors.
The ideal candidate will possess: Five or more years senior-level fundraising experience; excellent communications skills; ability to make a persuasive case for support and a proven track record in securing major gifts; knowledge of donor databases, preferably Raisers Edge; experience in online and email fundraising and an understanding of social media and web-based marketing.
Position Responsibilities:
Provides leadership and direction to Foundation and Corporate Relations, Volunteer Services and Food Sourcing staff to strategize cultivation of prospective donors among their constituency bases.
Works with Board of Directors to identify individual prospects among their colleagues and associates.
Works with Major Gift Specialist to develop strategy to upgrade current donors and utilize creative approaches to engage matching gift and Sustainer donor as major donors.
Cultivate, solicit and close gifts from donors and prospects.
Works directly with direct response vendor to develop an annual mailing strategy for engaging donors and increasing support through the institution of gift club levels, monthly sustainer programs and planned giving vehicles.
Oversees tracking and stewardship strategies for donors.
Responsible, working with the Special Events Coordinator, for the FoodBank's annual signature event, the Blue Jean Ball.
Develops cultivation events for donors.
Builds upon the planned giving program instituted in FY14 by developing a system of communication with and cultivation of prospects.
Serves as an active member of the Resource Development Department website committee, collaborating with the Director of Marketing and Director of Communications and Public Relations, and Development Project Manager on compelling online and email fundraising strategies based on analysis of our database and response rates to appeals.
Oversees an efficient system of timely acknowledgements.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
